Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips gives a nod to her favorite Gothic writers. In this novel Phillips has created a lighthearted contemporary romance with Gothic overtones.  Annie Hewitt is back on the island off the coast of Maine, the place that only holds bad memories from her teenage years.  Hopefully she won't encounter brooding Theo Harp again.  No such luck, and the sparks are flying!

Bone Dust White by Karin Salvalaggio is a mystery/thriller set in Montana.  Grace Adams witnesses a woman being brutally attacked behind her home.  The woman is Grace's estranged mother who disappeared 11 years ago.  Now State Police Detective Macy Greely is in route to the town to reopen the investigation she had to abandon 11 years previous.
