The Boys in the Bunkhouse: Servitude and Salvation in the Heartland by Dan Barry is the 2018 All Iowa Reads title.  It is the story of the 21 men with disabilities from Texas who were rescued from an old school house in Atalissa, Iowa in 2009.  They were working in a turkey plant for a mere $65.00 a month.  This is the story of how they came to be in Iowa and what was done to make their lives better after they were removed from the bunkhouse.

The Lost Ones by Sheena Kamal introduces Nora Watts who's job is looking for missing persons.  When she receives a call about a missing teenage girl she is shocked to find out the young woman is the baby she gave up for adoption 15 years ago.  Now Nora is on the hunt to find Bonnie.
