Mr. Revere and I: being an account of certain episodes in the career of Paul Revere Esq. as revealed by his horse written and illustrated by Robert Lawson is a children's book written in 1953.  Sherry was a cavalry horse in His Majesty's Service until she changes owners in a card game.  She then ends up in the service of a silversmith by the name of Paul Revere.  When she arrived in Boston Sherry believed the colonists were upstarts and bumpkins.  As she spends time with the Revere family she begins to see their side.  Paul Revere uses Sherry to warn the other colonies of what the British are up to.  A fun historical fiction story for the whole family from the horse's point of view.
