The Cake Therapist by Judith Fertig follows pastry chef Claire who is struggling to open her own bakery in her hometown of Millcreek Valley, Ohio.  The town has reinvented itself as a trendy boutique area known as the bridal district.  Claire seems to be establishing her business but she keeps tasting a sharp bitter tang in whatever she eats.  What is causing this bitter flavor?
