American Spy by Lauren Wilkinson looks at spy-craft in the 1980s.  Marie Mitchell is working for the FBI but has been recruited by the CIA to get close to the communist leader of a west African nation.  There are many repercussions from this event not the least of which is surprising a killer in her home who might have harmed her young twin sons.

Painted Horses by Malcolm Brooks is set in 1950s Montana as Catherine Lemay a young and ideological archeologist looks over a large canyon for historically significant artifacts before it will be flooded to create a dam and power source for a local electrical utility.

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank follows Anne and her family as they hide in the secret annex of her father's Amsterdam business for just over 2 years before being discovered and taken away to concentration camps by the Nazis.

A Distance Too Grand by Regina Scott is a historical Christian fiction novel set on the rim of the Grand Canyon.  Photographer Meg Pero is prepared to join the expeditionary survey to capture the images of the canyon, but when she finds out the officer leading the expedition is none other than Ben Coleridge who's proposal of marriage she turned down back at West Point she knows it could be a tense trip.

The Perfect Daughter by Joseph Souza deals with a town divided.  Shepherd's Bay, Maine is a small town that has had a recent influx of wealthy people from the big city.  The new wealth and hardscrabble locals don't mix and there is speculation this rift is at the root of the disappearance of two teenage girls one a native and one a wealthy transplant.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is one of the most popular and enduring novels in the English language.  Published in 1813 this romantic novel of manners regularly appears near the top of lists of most loved books.  If you haven't picked up the story of Elizabeth Bennet and her beloved Mr. Darcy you might just want to give this humorous novel about the British aristocracy a try.
