Little Girl Gone by Gerry Schmitt is the first in the Afton Tangler thriller series.  Afton works for the  Minneapolis Police Department as a Family Liaison Officer.  She is called in to help when a 6 month old girl is taken out of her crib.  Who could have committed this heinous crime?  Afton starts helping Max the lead detective on the case.  She hopes this experience will help her move up into the detective squad soon.

The Forbidden Garden by Ellen Herrick follows the saga of the Kirkwood family's walled Shakespeare garden.  The garden hasn't grown anything for several centuries after it was cursed by an ancestor.  Graham Kirkwood hopes that Sorrel Sparrow of New England will be able to help the family restore the garden.  However he failed to mention to her pertinent information concerning the history of the garden.

Falling into the Mob by Steve Zousmer is a fun look at what happens to one man when he literally bumps into the mob on the New York subway.  Phil Vail who is nearing 60 may be looking for some more excitement in his life, but the mob wasn't what he expected.  A light rollicking read.
