A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena is a twisty thriller.  When Tom arrives home late from work the house is unlocked and his wife Karen and her car are gone.  Tom finds out from the police that Karen was involved in a single car accident in a seedy part of town.  Everyone wants to know what happened but when Karen is able to speak to them she can remember nothing of her night other than she is very scared.

The Widows by Jess Montgomery introduces Lily Ross who has just become the first female sheriff in Bronwyn County, Ohio.  It is 1925 and Lily's husband the sheriff has been shot and killed on the job.  Lily's first official act will be to find out who is responsible and bring them to justice.

Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webber is a story filled with magical realism.  Anna Kate Callow is in her family's hometown of Wicklow, Alabama to fulfill her Grandma Zee's will.  She now owns the Blackbird Cafe but she doesn't plan to stay long, until Wicklow and it's eccentric citizens start to grow on her.
