Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris

Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris is the story behind a picture of two young boys sitting on a porch with a hand painted sign that reads, "2 children for sale."  The year is 1931 when Philadelphia newspaper reporter Ellis Reed snaps that picture.  The story and picture is picked up nationally.  Ellis had no idea how the fame will affect the children in the picture.  Now he must figure out how to undo the damage done to the family.  Recommended for fans of Lisa Wingate's Before We Were Yours.

The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl

The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl introduces Stella who in 1983 has been sent to Paris by her mother's estate after her death. Stella isn't sure why she is there but she makes some really good friends and delves into the mystery behind a painting entitled Olympia by a female artist.  Reichl is the author of Delicious another excellent food centric, historical novel. Recommended for fans of Sarah Jio and Nina George. 

Life After Doom by Brian D. McLaren

 Life After Doom by Brian D. McLaren describes what McLaren calls "the catastrophic failures of religious and political leaders to address the dominant realities of our time: ecological overshoot, economic injustice, and the increasing likelihood of civilizational collapse." McLaren addresses the current climate crisis and his opinions on how individuals can address the global issue without getting overwhelmed. Told in four parts, Life After Doom is a guide to help readers find home and community in a world where it is easy to feel isolated and helpless.

Twice the Trouble by Ash Clifton

Twice the Trouble by Ash Clifton is a debut mystery. Noland Twice is a former police officer who now does freelance detective work.  He has been hired by a high powered law firm to track down the man who cleaned out the offshore accounts of a large south Florida construction firm.  This is all off the books and Noland is authorized to use any means necessary to locate the man and return the money.  Is the payout really worth the headaches brought on by this particular job?  Recommended for fans of Matt Coyle's Rick Cahill series, Al Lamanda's John Bekker mysteries and Steve Hamilton's Nick Mason series.

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren is a contemporary romance set in the Utah desert.  Lily Wilder runs Wilder Adventures using her father's fortune hunting tricks to help provide a cowboy experience for city dwellers.  When their latest group shows up, Lily is shocked to come face to face with Leo.  Leo is the love of her life who abandoned her at the tender age of nineteen.  How is she going to survive a week with him?  When things go horribly wrong on the outing Lily and Leo will have to decide if they can trust each other long enough to save the rest of their group.  Recommended for fans of love stories by Tessa Bailey, Ali Hazelwood and Emily Henry.

Northwoods by Amy Pease

Northwoods by Amy Pease introduces Eli North who is working as a sheriff's deputy while his personal life spins out of control.  When he finds the body of a teenage boy in a fishing boat the whole department is on the case.  They then realize there is a teen girl who was with the boy who is now missing.  Drugs are suspected to be involved and  clues keep leading back to an exclusive private country club in the county.  What is happening in this popular vacation spot in Wisconsin's Lake District?  Recommended for fans of Nick Petrie, Ace Atkins and Chris Offutt.
