THE WHEEL OF DARKNESS—Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child—The fly leaf says it best...”An luxury ocean liner on its maiden voyage across the North Atlantic, awash in wealth and decadence; and ancient Tibetan box, its contents unknown, sealed with a terrifying warning; an AFI agent destined to confront what he fears most—himself...” Aloysius Pendergast and his ward Constance Greene search on said ocean liner for the Tibetan box, its contents and contend with the results of disobeying the warning. Another fine read from Preston & Child

STAR WITNESS—D.W. Buffa—Hollywood, place where legends, or the truth, or what is perceived to be the truth is churned out. Stanley Roth, most famous director, Hollywood power, is arrested for the death of his wife. To the defense, Joseph Antonelli, a legend of defense lawyers. Does art immitate life or life immitate art? Antonelli works to unravel these mysteries as he tries to unravel and defend his client, a client who is not forthcoming about himself and who always has other things on his mind rather than the trial. Good story for one who is not “into” Hollywood—very good story.
