Ted Kooser is the former Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry and a retired professor of English at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  He writes a conversational style of poetry that is accessible to the nonliterary public.  His work titled Blizzard Voices is a haunting reminder of what families endured on the prairie during the blizzard on January 12, 1888 that became known as the Children's Blizzard.  The library has the following works by Ted Kooser:
