Ten Tomatoes that Changed the World: a History by William Alexander follows the rise in popularity of our favorite summertime vegetable from the 15th century in Italy to modern hydroponic greenhouses that produce our grocery store tomatoes.  An entertaining look at everything from how ketchup became popular to why prohibition is reason spaghetti is a popular dinner staple.  A perfect read for gardeners and fans of narrative non-fiction.
