We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter tells the story of the Kurc family and their daring escape from the city of Radom, Poland during World War II.  Author Georgia Hunter has meticulously researched her family and tells their stories in this fictionalized account of their survival.  By the end of the Holocaust, 90% of Poland's three million Jews were annihilated; of the more than thirty thousand Jews who lived in Radom, fewer than 300 survived.  Hunter is right, "We were the lucky ones."  A powerful story of survival under unimaginable circumstances.
