An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole introduces Elle who has a photographic memory.  Elle is working for the Loyal League during the Civil War posing as a slave in a Richmond, Virginia senator's home.  She is to spy on the family and report back, but when she runs across handsome Pinkerton agent Malcolm McCall she finds it much more difficult to do her job for the Union.
