Christmas Bells by Jennifer Chiaverini tells the story behind the Christmas carol Christmas Bells.  It was a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow during the Civil War and a time of personal tragedy in the Longfellow home.  Longfellow's story is told in alternating chapters with a modern day story set in the Boston area of Massachusetts.  A poignant Christmas novella that will linger with the reader long after the book is finished.
