Inside the O'Briens By Lisa Genova tells the story of Joe O'Brien a Boston cop who finds out he has inherited Huntington's Disease from his mother.  Huntington's disease is an inherited neurodegenerative disease characterized by a progressive loss of voluntary motor control and an increase in involuntary movements.  Joe and his wife are afraid for their four adult children and unborn grandchild as there is a 50/50 chance on inheriting the disease.  This powerful story helps the reader understand what a family dealing with this terrible diagnosis is going through.
