ACT OF TREASON—Vince Flynn—The motorcade of Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates of the U.S. (Alexander and Mark Ross, respectively) is bombed, killing the Presidential Candidate's wife (and 39 others). Acting somewhat out of the 'scope of authority' Mitch Rapp follows very slim leads and his gut, following a trail leading to international criminals and eventually back to Washington itself as the perpetrators and idea men are identified pursued. The denouement re: Vice President-elect I found unsettling.
