The Escape Artist by Jonathan Freedland tells of Rudolph Vrba's daring escape from Auschwitz at the age of nineteen.  As a Slovak Jew Rudi had been deported and was working in the camp watching the atrocities as he bid his time, waiting for a chance to escape and let the world know what was happening at the death camp.
