The authors stipulate that these are chosen not only for content, but also for layout, usage, etc, giving the potential blogger ideas on how to proceed building his/her own blog. In addition, the book has a general description of blogs...as well as a well written chapter entitled "How to Make Your Own Blog". While it leaves questions unanswered it gives a well written guide on how to get started.
