The Thin Woman by Dorothy Cannell follows plus size interior decorator Ellie Simons as she receives an invitation to the ancestral family home.  She takes an escort, Ben, not realizing how that decision will affect her future.  When her uncle passes away and leaves the bulk of the inheritance to her and her fictitious fiance, provided some stipulations are met, the games are on.  The rest of the family will stop at nothing including murder to make sure she and Ben do not fulfill their obligations and locate the hidden treasure.

Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf is the author's final novel before passing away last October.  The book like all of his others is set in the fictional town of Holt, Colorado.  Widow Addie Moore has a proposition for her widower neighbor Louis. Would Louis be interested in in coming over and sleep in the night with her.  And talk.  Imagine the ripple effect in their small community.

The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows is set in Depression Era West Virginia.  Layla Beck is working for the WPA's Federal Writer's Project compiling the history of Macedonia, West Virginia for the town's sesquicentennial.  She is boarding with the Romeyn family whom she finds very intriguing, especially as she uncovers long buried family secrets.

Yesterday's Echo by Matt Coyle introduces former cop Rick Cahill who is just trying to keep a low profile running a steakhouse in La Jolla, California.  He's doing a good job until a beautiful reporter sweeps him into a mystery surrounding a dead man in a hotel.  Now Rick is the number one suspect and he'd better find out who really did it before he ends up behind bars.
