The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny is the 8th novel in the Cheif Inspector Armand Gamache series.  These wonderful mysteries are set in Quebec and bring in a delightful and rich cast of characters is a well drawn lush setting.  One of my all-time favorite mystery series.  Start at the beginning of the series.

Gathering: Memoir of a Seed Saver by Diane Ott Whealy is the story of the creation of the Seed Savers Exchange in Decorah, Iowa.  Diane starts this memoir out with her recollections as a young girl and how she became fascinated with plants and seeds. She also shares how she and her husband started the Seed Savers Exchange and chronicles the growth process of the organization.

Don't Ever Get Old by Daniel Friedman is the story of 87-year-old retired Memphis cop Buck Schatz.  This mystery follows Buck as he tracks down a Nazi S.S. Officer and the gold he stole after the war.  This is a humorous mystery with a colorful, irreverent cast of characters.

Unbroken: a World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand is the story of Louis Zamperini Olympic runner and Japanese prisoner of war.  This is the story of his survival on a raft in the Pacific Ocean for 47 days and capture by the Japanese.  Just an amazing true story.
